What Curve D Means for Fit
Trip Curve D means the breaker's magnetic trip operates at 10 to 20 times the rated current (30–60 A instantaneous for this 3 A unit). That's deliberately higher than Curve C (5–10× In) or Curve B (3–5× In). Use it where the load draws a sustained inrush — motor starting, transformer energization, or capacitive loads — that would cause a faster curve to trip on the transient rather than the fault.
