What the K-Characteristic Means
The S203PR-K60: The K-curve is the key selection parameter here. It's a magnetic trip characteristic designed for inductive loads — motors, transformers, solenoid valves — where the inrush current can be 8 to 12 times the rated current without nuisance tripping, while still providing short-circuit protection. For a panel builder, that means this breaker goes on the load side of a contactor feeding a motor or a power supply, not on a lighting or resistive heater circuit where a B-curve would be the fit.
