Panel Fit and Sourcing Reality
What the C-Curve and 25 A Rating Mean
The C-curve means the magnetic trip operates at 5 to 10 times the rated current (125–250 A instantaneous), so it holds through the startup surge of a 5.5 kW motor or a bank of LED drivers without nuisance tripping, but still clears a hard short fast enough to protect the cable. For resistive loads with no inrush, a B-curve would trip faster; for high-inrush transformers, a D-curve might be needed — but the C-curve is the general-purpose choice for mixed industrial and commercial panels.
