Immediate fit check
The E2E-X10C130 2M is a shielded M30 threaded inductive proximity sensor from Omron's current E2E NEXT series. It fires at 10 mm on steel, outputs NPN normally-open (target present = transistor pulls low), and is rated for 10-30V DC supply with a max load current of 200 mA. The 2 m prewired cable with bare-wire termination saves a connector but means the cable run is fixed — plan your conduit or cable-tray path before ordering. IP69K rating covers high-pressure hot-water washdown; combined IP67G (oil-resistant gasket) lets it work in cutting-fluid environments. The brass body is nickel plated to resist corrosion.
How it sits against real alternatives
vs E2E-X10C1L30 2M: Electrically identical (NPN NO, 10 mm shielded, same cable and output), but the L30 body is 82 mm long vs 60 mm here. If your panel has tight axial clearance, the standard length is the choice; if you have room, the L30 is a drop-in substitute — same mounting thread, same wiring. vs E2E-X10C230 2M: Identical sensing distance, supply, and mechanicals, but normally-closed (output ON when target absent). Use the NO variant if your safety logic requires sensor-off on target. vs E2E-X18MC130 2M: Unshielded body with 18 mm range — nearly double the sensing distance. Trade-off: unshielded requires a non-ferrous target-free zone around the sensor (typically 3× the diameter), so you can't flush-mount it into a steel bracket. If the target approach is axial with no side metal, the longer reach simplifies alignment; if space is tight, stick with shielded.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
Compliance documentation covers CE, CSA, and UL 60947-5-2. Verify your local UL listing requirements on the standard sheet; the cable is PVC, RoHS-compliant per Omron's standard declarations.
Mounting and wiring quick-check
M30 threaded, shielded — flush-mount into steel is allowed; two clamping nuts and a toothed washer are included. Torque to spec per Omron's installation guide (not supplied here). Three wires: brown (10-30V DC), blue (0V), black (NPN switching output). Output is normally-open; load between black and 0V (sinking). Max 200 mA — watch the inrush of a small relay or lamp. Indicator LED visible through the housing shows output status.
