What it is and what it does
The Omron E2E-X16MC112-M1TJR 0.3M is a current-production M12 unshielded proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, rated IP67, IP67G, and IP69K with a 16 mm sensing distance and NPN normally-open output. Unshielded construction gives a 4x sensing range factor (16 mm actual) and works for non-flush mounting—good when metal around the face would interfere with standard shielded sensors. Power it from 10 to 30 VDC on a 3-wire DC circuit; the 0.3 m pigtail uses Omron's Smartclick M12 connector with a bend-resistant robot cable, so it holds up on moving arms or tight routing.
NO vs NC: a real swap constraint
The sibling E2E-X16MC212-M1TJ 0.3M looks identical—same M12 unshielded body, same 16 mm sensing distance, same Triple IP rating—but outputs normally-closed instead of normally-open. If the existing panel logic expects a closed-at-detect signal, dropping this NO part in requires a wiring change or a program revision. Not a quick swap; you'll need to plan the logic shift.
Mounting and environment notes
Nickel-plated brass housing (short M12 body, 47.1 mm overall length, 26 mm threaded) and PBT sensing face. IP69K rating handles high-pressure spray. The 0.3 m robot cable with Smartclick M12 connector allows fast replacement on cable-track runs; the connector locks without tools but still seals to IP69K.
