What it is — and what carries the spec
The Omron E2E-X22C130 2M is a shielded M30 tubular inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, delivering 22 mm sensing distance with NPN normally-open output on a three-wire DC supply (10–30 VDC). The PVC cable is 2 m long; the short-body housing in nickel-plated brass with a PBT sensing face gives it IP67, IP67G, and IP69K ingress protection — the last rating means it stands up to high-temperature, high-pressure washdown cycles common in food, beverage, and automotive lines.
What the key ratings mean for fit
The 22 mm nominal range is the standard three-times (3x) factor for a shielded M30 sensor, meaning you can count on repeatable detection for ferrous targets at that distance; mounting flush in steel does not derate the range appreciably. Shielded (flush-mountable) construction lets this sensor sit in a tapped hole or a bracket without requiring a non-ferrous standoff zone around the face — that saves panel space on crowded machine frames. The NPN output is the sink type common in 3-wire DC systems; it pulls the load to ground when the target is present, so verify your PLC input card accepts sinking signals before specifying.
