The OMRON E2E-X2C1L12 2M is a shielded M12 inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series, rated for 2 mm sensing distance with an NPN normally-open output. It runs on 10-30 V DC and switches up to 200 mA — standard three-wire DC wiring. The brass nickel-plated barrel handles -40 °F to 185 °F and carries IP67, IP67G, and IP69K ingress protection, so it holds up under washdown and oily environments.
Field wiring note
Prewired with a 2 m cable terminated in bare wire — no connector, so plan for a junction box or direct termination. Three-wire NPN NO circuit: brown to +V (10-30V DC), blue to 0V, black to the sinking input on the controller. Load current must stay under 200 mA. The shielded face limits the sensing field to 2 mm, useful for flush-mounting in metal.
Washdown & oil resistance
Rated IP67G (oil-resistant) and IP69K (high-pressure washdown), so it survives coolant splash, washdown cycles, and lubricant exposure. The cable jacket is oil-resistant as well, and the body carries nickel-plated brass to handle corrosive wash chemicals. This sensor is built for automotive powertrain, food packaging, or any line that sees water jets and cutting oils.
