The OMRON E2E-X2D1-M1G is an inductive proximity sensor with a shielded M8×1 mm threaded body, 2 mm sensing distance, DC 2-wire normally-open output with polarity, and an M12 connector.
Fit and function
Shielded construction allows flush mounting in metal without derating the detection range — a practical advantage when panel space or mounting bracket constraints call for a flush sensor. The M8 form factor fits standard 8 mm mounting holes, and the M12 connector matches the E2E family's field-wiring pattern so a replacement can often swap without repulling cable.
