Omron's E2E-X5B1D18-M1 is an inductive proximity sensor from the E2E NEXT series — a cylindrical, shielded M18 threaded body rated for 5 mm sensing distance. The PNP normally-open output switches up to 200 mA on a 10-30V DC supply. Built-in M12 connector cuts installation time compared to a prewired cable; the 53 mm overall height is the shortest among the M12 connector variants in this series. The brass housing with nickel plating and dual IP67/IP69K ratings mean this sensor survives high-pressure washdown and oil exposure — common in food, packaging, and automotive machining lines. The internal Prox3 Hybrid Circuitry with Thermal Distance Control 2 compensates for target temperature variation, reducing false triggers in harsh environments.
Electrically identical to the E2E-X5B1DL18-M1 — same output, same sensing distance, same connector — but body height is 53 mm versus 75 mm. Both carry IP69K and environmental resistance.
Mounting: shielded sensing face allows flush installation in metal without derating the 5 mm detection range. Tightening torque on the M18 nut should follow standard practice; the nickel-plated brass resists corrosion. Wiring: M12 male connector, 3-wire PNP — supply (brown), output (black), common (blue). Indicator light (orange LED) visible from the side for fast troubleshooting.
