What it is and what it does
Omron E2E-X5F1-M1 inductive proximity sensor in the E2E family. Shielded M18×1 barrel, 5 mm flush-mount sensing, PNP normally open output, M12 quick-disconnect. Shielded construction means the sensor can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing distance. 5 mm sensing range is standard for an M18 shielded inductive – enough for small part detection on pallet stops, cylinder positions, or conveyor presence. PNP sourcing output and normally open configuration match most PLC input cards directly; M12 connector cuts panel wiring labor compared to a pigtail cable.
