What the ratings mean for fit
The E2E-X7D1S: The shielded construction (flush-mount body) lets you install it flush in a metal bracket without sensing-range derating — a common need in tight machine-tool beds or fixture plates. The 7 mm sensing distance is standard for an M18 shielded; confirm your target material is ferrous to get full range. Two-wire DC simplifies wiring (no separate load supply line), but limits the load current to 100 mA max and off-state leakage to 3 mA minimum — fine for PLC inputs and small relays, not for direct solenoid drives.
