M18 shielded sensor with equal sensing for aluminum and iron
The E2EW-QX5B318 2M is an M18 shielded inductive proximity sensor with a 5 mm sensing distance, and that distance holds for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals — no derating when switching from iron to aluminum. The sensing face and body are stainless steel (SUS303), rated IP67, so the sensor withstands weld spatter, coolant, and chip washdown. The PNP output provides both normally-open and normally-closed signals (NO+NC) on a single 3-wire DC cable. Supply voltage is 10 to 30 VDC, and the 2 m PVC cable gives a ready connection to a 3-wire DC input module. Because the sensor is shielded, flush mounting in metal does not reduce the sensing range.
