The Omron E2EW-X6C112 5M is a shielded M12 weld-field-immune inductive proximity sensor with a stainless steel (SUS303) metal face. It outputs NPN normally-open, runs on 10–30 VDC (3-wire DC), and senses ferrous and non-ferrous metals equally at 6 mm. The 5 m PVC cable and IP67 sealing let it survive coolant spray and grinding dust right on the mill floor.

The E2EW-X6C112 5M takes the radiant heat near the rolls and shrugs off the EMI from megawatt drives. Stainless case and metal face resist scale and weld spatter. Equal sensing on aluminum and iron means you don't re-commission when the strip grade changes. M12 threaded body mounts in standard 12 mm tapped holes; the 5 m cable reaches from the roll table to a junction box without a splice.
