The Omron E2EW-X6C112 5M is a shielded M12 weld-field-immune inductive proximity sensor with a stainless steel (SUS303) metal face. It outputs NPN normally-open, runs on 10–30 VDC (3-wire DC), and senses ferrous and non-ferrous metals equally at 6 mm. The 5 m PVC cable and IP67 sealing let it survive coolant spray and grinding dust right on the mill floor.
