The Schneider Electric A9R50240S is an Acti9 iID K residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) — a 2-pole, 40 A, 30 mA sensitivity Type AC device for 220-240 V AC networks.
The 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity is the standard threshold for personal protection against indirect contact — it trips on fault currents above that level, fast enough to prevent ventricular fibrillation per IEC 60364. The 40 A rated current matches the upstream MCB or the load's full-load ampacity; oversizing the RCCB relative to the load leaves the breaker as the overcurrent device, not this part. Voltage-independent tripping means the RCCB does not need a separate power supply to open on a residual fault — the fault current itself energizes the trip coil. That makes it fail-safe in a lost-neutral scenario where an electronic RCCB might not operate.
Tunnel-type terminals accept 1-35 mm² rigid or 1-25 mm² flexible cable. Wire strip length is 16 mm. Neutral is on the left. IP20 on the terminals, IP40 inside the modular enclosure.
