The Schneider Electric A9R50440S is an Acti9 iID K residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) rated for 40 A continuous current with 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity, 4-pole (4P), Type AC, for 380-415 V AC 50/60 Hz networks. The instantaneous trip is voltage-independent, so it clears a ground fault even if the phase voltage collapses.
40 A rated current (In) suits sub-main or large final circuits — think feeder to a distribution board, a commercial kitchen, or a multi-split HVAC unit. If the downstream load includes variable-speed drives, switched-mode power supplies, or other electronics that generate pulsed or DC fault currents, a Type A or Type B RCCB would be needed instead — this part is for predominantly resistive or linear AC loads. Breaking capacity is rated at Idm 500 A / Im 500 A — adequate for a 40 A RCCB in a domestic or light commercial installation where prospective fault current stays below that level. The 440 V AC insulation voltage (Ui) gives headroom above the 380-415 V operating range.
