Fieldbus extension over fiber
The BMXNRP0201 is a Modicon X80 fiber optic repeater that extends a 100BASE-FX Ethernet link over single-mode fiber up to 15 km. It converts between two RJ45 copper ports (100BASE-TX) and two fiber ports, so you can run the control network across a long distance without electrical noise pickup. The module is hot-swappable in the X80 rack and draws 140 mA typical from the 24 V DC backplane. Rated for 0 to 60 °C operation with IP20 protection, it's meant for indoor cabinet mounting, not wet washdown areas. The CE and UL marks (IEC 61010-2-201, UL 61010-2-201) cover most panel build requirements.
Fiber optic link specs
The transmitter operates at 1310 nm wavelength. With single-mode fiber, the attenuation budget spans -15 to -8 dB (9/125 µm), and the receiver sensitivity runs -31 to -8 dBm. That gives the 15 km reach. The rise/fall time is 2.5 ns, which keeps up with 100 Mb line speed. Receiver sensitivity: -31 to -8 dBm. Attenuation budget: -15 to -8 dB over single-mode fiber (9/125 µm).
