Overview
The BMENUA0100 is a Modicon M580 OPC UA server module that bridges the control network to IT systems, supporting up to 10 OPC UA clients and 50000 monitored items in standard sampling mode. It mounts in a single Ethernet + X-bus slot on the M580 backplane, draws power internally via the rack, and provides a 10/100/1000 BASE-TX Ethernet port with IPv6 forwarding and network segmentation. Cybersecurity features include a built-in firewall, HTTPS, IPSec, role-based access control, and Achilles level 2 certification.
Selection and integration
Compared to the BMXNGD0100, which is a Modicon X80 global data module with Modbus TCP messaging and a 0.09 A switching current, the BMENUA0100 is purpose-built for OPC UA server duties with a 0.14 A switching current and a richer protocol set including SNMP and NTP. The BMENUA0100 is compatible with M580 standalone, redundant, and safety CPUs, as well as X80 Ethernet backplane racks, making it a drop-in for existing M580 architectures.
The BMENUA0100 is an active catalog item in the Modicon M580 range; lead time is confirmed via RFQ for the exact build code.
