The Schneider Electric BMXNOM0200 is a serial links module in the Modicon X80 I/O family — a standard-format communication slice that drops into an X80 rack and pulls its power straight from the backplane rather than needing a separate feed. Its job is to expose two serial channels to the rack so a CPU can talk Modbus or character-mode traffic to field devices that don't speak the Ethernet protocols the rest of the platform favours. Concept is serial link, not Ethernet bridging: the module does not terminate PROFINET or EtherNet/IP itself, it gives the rack a pair of legacy/fieldbus-style serial trunks.

Front-face LEDs give one red ERR, one green RUN, and a green activity LED per serial channel (SER COM 0 and SER COM 1). During commissioning that quartet is enough to walk a tech from 'is the slice alive' to 'is traffic flowing on each trunk' without opening the cabinet.
Power, environment, and panel fit
Ambient operating range is 0...60 °C with 10...95 % relative humidity non-condensing and an IP20 rating — a typical cabinet-mounted envelope. No conformal coating beyond the standard TC protective treatment, so washdown or condensing-humidity sites need the usual enclosure strategy.
The module carries a CE mark and is declared against the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU and the EMC directive 2014/30/EU, which is the EU conformity baseline a controls buyer usually needs to close out the declaration-of-conformance pack for an X80 panel.
