The Schneider Electric C063H45EFM is a ComPacT NS new generation 4-pole moulded-case circuit breaker rated 630 A at 50 °C, with a MicroLogic 5.0 E electronic trip unit. The 5.0 E adds energy-metering capability — it measures real-time consumption, not just trips, so you can pull load profiles off the breaker without a separate power meter. That saves a DIN-rail slot and a Modbus node if you're already reading the breaker via the communication bus. For a 630 A main on a 415 V distribution board, that covers most utility-transformer fault levels. The trip unit provides L (long-time overload), S (short-time short-circuit), and I (instantaneous) protection curves. The S curve is adjustable with a time delay, so you can coordinate downstream breakers — essential for selective coordination in a multi-level distribution panel. Thermal memory is 20 minutes, meaning the breaker remembers a prior overload and shortens the trip time on a repeat event, which protects cables from cumulative heating.
Mounting and integration — fixed, front-connected, backplate-mounted
That means all terminations are accessible from the front of the panel — no rear bus work, no need to reach behind the breaker. Mounting is on a backplate, not a DIN rail, so plan for a drilled and tapped mounting surface. Dimensions are 327 mm high × 280 mm wide × 147 mm deep. Local signalling uses four red LEDs for fault indication and one yellow LED for overload. The LCD display on the MicroLogic 5.0 E shows real-time current, energy, and trip-event data — no need to plug in a laptop to see what caused a trip. That's a time-saver for maintenance: walk up, read the display, reset, and log the event.
Lifecycle and sourcing — active production, standard availability
Overvoltage category III confirms it's suitable for fixed-installation distribution boards, not just downstream equipment.
