630 A distribution breaker with a 150 kA interrupting rating
The MicroLogic 2.0 A electronic trip unit gives you L (long-time overload) and I (instantaneous short-circuit) protection curves, with an ammeter readout on the LCD display for on-site load monitoring. Mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles, electrical durability ranges from 2,000 cycles at 690 V In up to 4,000 cycles at 440 V In/2 — this is a switch you can use for infrequent manual switching, not a contactor duty cycle. Fixed front-front connection with 70 mm pitch, backplate mount, IP40 enclosure. At 327 x 210 x 147 mm (H x W x D), it fills a standard MCC bucket or distribution panel cutout.
Still in current production — no replacement watch needed
This part carries a current lifecycle status from Schneider — no phase-out, no last-time-buy notice, no successor to track. It's an active catalog number in the ComPacT NS630b...1600 new generation range, so you can spec it into a BOM freeze without worrying about a PCN next quarter.
The electronic trip unit includes 20-minute thermal memory, so it remembers prior heating after a trip and re-closes with a shorter allowable cool-down — useful for motor starts or pulsed loads that heat the breaker between trips. The IK07 impact rating (EN 50102) handles a 2 J hammer blow, so it survives rough handling during panel assembly. Four red LEDs for fault indication and one yellow LED for overload give you a visual read without needing to connect a communication module. Altitude rating is 0–2000 m without derating, 2000–5000 m with derating — relevant if this goes into a high-altitude installation like a mine or mountain facility.
