What this 800 A MCCB delivers
The Schneider Electric C080H35AFM is a ComPacT NS new generation molded case circuit breaker rated 800 A at 50 °C, with a MicroLogic 5.0 A electronic trip unit providing L (long-time overload), S (short-time short-circuit), and I (instantaneous short-circuit) protection. The H breaking capacity code means 70 kA Icu at 415 V AC, 50/60 Hz, per IEC 60947-2 — enough for high-fault distribution panels where upstream coordination demands a robust interrupting rating. The 3-pole fixed-mount format with front connection (both upside and downside) suits backplate mounting in switchboards or enclosed distribution assemblies. The electronic trip unit includes a 20-minute thermal memory, so the breaker remembers prior heating after a trip and re-closes with a shorter allowable cool-down — useful for motor or transformer feeders that see repeated start cycles. The LCD display and ammeter measurement give local readout of phase currents without an external meter, which speeds commissioning and fault finding.
This MCCB delivers 85 kA Icu at 220/240 V AC, 70 kA at 380/415 V, 65 kA at 440 V, 50 kA at 500/525 V, and 42 kA at 660/690 V AC. For a 415 V distribution board, the 70 kA Icu is the figure to coordinate with upstream fuses or a higher-rated breaker — selectivity tables from Schneider will show whether this H-rated frame clears a downstream fault before the main trips.
Fixed-mount backplate installation with 70 mm connection pitch. Dimensions: 327 mm high, 210 mm wide, 147 mm deep. IP40 enclosure protection (IK07 impact resistance) means it can be installed in a clean indoor panel without additional sealing. The manually operated control with LCD display and four red fault-indication LEDs plus one yellow overload LED provides local status without opening the panel door.
Electrical durability: 2000 cycles at 690 V In, 4000 at In/2; 5000 cycles at 440 V In, 6000 at In/2. Mechanical durability: 10,000 cycles. Operating altitude 0–2000 m without derating, 2000–5000 m with derating. Relative humidity 0–95 %. No earth-leakage protection built in — add a Vigi module if ground-fault detection is required.
