The C100H4FM is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NS1000H new generation basic frame — a 4-pole, fixed-mount, manually operated circuit breaker frame rated 1000 A at 50 °C. It carries a 70 kA Icu at 415 VAC (85 kA at 240 VAC) per IEC 60947-2, making it a high-interrupting-capacity frame for distribution-level fault protection. This is the bare frame without a control unit; you select and install the appropriate Micrologic trip unit separately to set the protection curves.
The headline 70 kA Icu at 415 VAC tells you this frame can safely interrupt a fault current up to 70,000 A without welding or rupturing — that is the ultimate breaking capacity under IEC 60947-2. For selectivity studies, the rated short-time withstand current (Icw) is 19.2 kA for 1 second, which governs how long the frame can carry a fault while an upstream breaker clears. The 1000 A continuous rating at 50 °C is the thermal limit for the frame itself; derate per the manufacturer's table if your enclosure ambient runs higher.
Deployment context
This frame bolts to a backplate in a fixed-mount switchboard or panel — no DIN-rail, no draw-out cradle. The 280 mm width, 224 mm height, and 147 mm depth (connection pitch 70 mm) define the cutout and bus-bar spacing. Neutral is on the left. IP40 front face (IK07 impact rating) suits indoor distribution boards; not rated for washdown. The manually operated control means no motor operator or shunt trip is integrated — you add those externally if needed.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-2. Pollution degree 3, overvoltage category III, rated insulation voltage 800 V AC, rated impulse withstand voltage 8 kV. Electrical shock protection Class II on the front face. Storage temperature range -50 to 85 °C; operating -25 to 70 °C.
