The C10F3TM080 is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX100F molded case circuit breaker, 3-pole, rated 80 A at 40 °C with a thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit.
Breaking capacity — what the ratings mean
The breaking capacity is specified per IEC 60947-2 across multiple voltage levels. At 415 V AC — the most common industrial distribution voltage — it delivers 36 kA Icu. At 480 V AC (UL 60947-4-1) it still handles 25 kA. For a 80 A feeder on a 400 V panel with typical transformer sizes, that's ample headroom. The 8 kA at 690 V AC covers the rare high-voltage industrial bus.
Mounts on a backplate, front-connected both sides. The toggle handle provides manual control. The 5 slots accept auxiliary contacts, shunt trips, or alarm switches without additional wiring space.
Durability and electrical life
Rated for 50,000 mechanical cycles and 50,000 electrical cycles at 440 V at rated current. That drops to 30,000 cycles at 440 V at In, and 10,000 cycles at 690 V at In. For a distribution feeder switched a few times a year, that's effectively lifetime. For frequent switching applications like capacitor banks or motor circuits, the thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit is suitable but the electrical life at lower currents (In/2) extends to 50,000 cycles at 440 V.
