What you're getting with the C10N6TM050
The Schneider Electric C10N6TM050 is a ComPacT NSX100N molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a 50 A thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit, four poles, and an N-frame breaking capacity of 50 kA Icu at 415 V AC. The thermal-magnetic trip gives you L (overload) protection via a bimetal element and I (short-circuit) protection via a solenoid, both field-adjustable within the trip unit's range.
Breaking capacity — what those numbers mean for your panel
But the full curve matters: 90 kA at 240 V, 50 kA at 440 V, 36 kA at 500 V, 35 kA at 525 V, and 10 kA at 690 V. If your system runs at 480 V (common in North America), the UL listing shows 50 kA Icu at 480 V AC — same as the IEC 415 V figure. The 10 kA at 600/690 V is the weak point: if your fault current at that voltage exceeds 10 kA, step up to an S or H frame. The 50,000-cycle electrical durability at 440 V at half rated current (In/2) and 30,000 cycles at full In gives you a solid service life for a distribution breaker that isn't cycled daily like a motor-starter contactor.
Mounts flat on a backplate — no DIN rail here, so plan for bolt-on or screw-clamp fixing. The 161 mm height by 140 mm width by 86 mm depth fits a standard MCCB cutout. Front connections top and bottom, with a 35 mm connection pitch between poles. Neutral is on the left (3D configuration — no neutral protection, just a solid bar). IK07 impact rating means it survives a tool drop.
