The Schneider Electric C10R42D100 is a ComPacT NSX100R molded-case circuit breaker, rated 100 A at 40 °C with a MicroLogic 2.2 electronic trip unit. It is a 4-pole (4P) device, designed for distribution applications per EN/IEC 60947-2.
Trip unit and protection logic
The trip unit rating is fixed at 100 A; this is not an adjustable-frame breaker where you swap rating plugs.
The R breaking capacity code (200 kA at 415 V AC) is the headline figure, but the breaker also carries 200 kA Icu at 240 V, 200 kA at 440 V, 80 kA at 500 V, 65 kA at 525 V, and 45 kA at 690 V.
Mechanical and electrical endurance
Rated for 20,000 mechanical cycles and 20,000 electrical cycles at 440 V at rated current (In). At half-rated current (In/2) the electrical endurance doubles to 20,000 cycles at 440 V and 10,000 cycles at 690 V. For an MRO planner stocking spares for a panel that sees infrequent switching, the mechanical endurance is the limiting factor — the breaker is not designed for daily load-break duty like a contactor.
Physical integration and environment
Connection pitch is 35 mm. IP40 enclosure protection (no ingress of tools or wires >1 mm) and IK07 impact resistance. Operating altitude is 2000 m without derating; above that, derate per the manufacturer's curve.
