The C40V35E400 is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX400HB1 moulded-case circuit breaker, 3-pole, rated 400 A at 40 °C with a MicroLogic 5.3 E electronic trip unit. It delivers 85 kA Icu at 500 V AC 50/60 Hz per EN/IEC 60947-2, putting it in the HB1 breaking-capacity class — enough for high-fault industrial distribution without cascading upstream. Backplate-mounted, front-connected, toggle-operated with an LCD display for metering and event logs.

Trip unit and protection logic

The MicroLogic 5.3 E provides L (long-time overload), S (short-time short-circuit), and I (instantaneous short-circuit) protection, plus energy metering and power-quality data. The electronic trip unit is field-adjustable; the LCD display shows ready status, overload pre-alarm at 90 % Ir (orange) and 105 % Ir (red).
