The TM-DC trip unit gives you LI protection: thermal overload (L) and magnetic short-circuit (I), both tuned for DC solar arrays where fault current rises fast and arc extinction is harder than AC. Rated 500 A at 40 °C ambient, so it carries the full output of a large inverter string without nuisance tripping in a hot enclosure. The 1000 V DC insulation voltage (Ui) matches the operational voltage (Ue) — no derating gap between what the label says and what the insulation can handle over the life of the install.
Backplate-mounted, fixed — no DIN rail on this one. 185 mm wide, 255 mm high, 110 mm deep, with a 45 mm connection pitch. Front connections top and bottom, so busbar or cable landing is accessible without pulling the breaker.
Current production — no end-of-life notice. Standard catalog item in the ComPacT NSX DC PV line.
In a solar array, string fault currents can hit several kiloamps from parallel modules; this breaker clears that without cascading upstream. The 500 A rating at 40 °C means it's sized for the main DC output of a multi-string inverter or a combiner box feeding a central inverter. Electrical durability is 1000 cycles at rated voltage and current — that's low for frequent switching, but this is a protection device, not a disconnect switch. Mechanical durability is 5000 cycles.
