It's designed to accept BS type fuses in size A1, making it a fused disconnect for motor branch circuits or distribution feeders where the fuse provides the overcurrent protection and the switch provides visible isolation. The 32 A rating at 400 V AC-23B (switching of motors or other high-inductive loads) is the headline number for sizing: it handles motor loads up to 15 kW at 400 V in AC-23 duty. Making capacity is 320 A at the same voltage — the switch can close onto a fault without welding contacts. Short-circuit withstand is 80 kA when protected by the correct BS fuses, so it coordinates with upstream fuses rated for that fault level.
Mounts on a rail or plate — the GS1D footprint is 96 mm wide, 98 mm tall, 112 mm deep. Power connections accept 6 to 25 mm² flexible cable on screw terminals with a control-circuit tightening torque of 3.2 N·m.
Designed and tested to IEC 60269-1, IEC 60269-2, and IEC 60947-3 — the fuse and switch-disconnector standards. Rated insulation voltage 750 V AC, impulse withstand voltage 8 kV. Fire resistance of the body is 960 °C per IEC 60695-2-1. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalized) for humid environments.
