It switches three-phase motor loads in both directions — forward and reverse — through a single contactor pair, which is the standard arrangement for a reversing starter without a separate mechanical interlock.
A 12 A AC-3 contactor typically pairs with a motor full-load current around 9-10 A to allow for inrush. The 20 VDC coil pulls in on a 24 VDC nominal supply; dropout voltage will be lower, so verify the control voltage stays above the dropout threshold under load. Altitude derating kicks in above 2000 m — at 3000 m the dielectric strength and current-carrying capacity need a reduction per IEC 60947. Below that, no adjustment is needed.
