The Schneider VW3A46142 is a passive filter designed to reduce current harmonics on Altivar variable-speed drives. It's rated for 19 A input and 19.5 A output at 480 V ±10 %, 60 Hz, and is intended for 11 kW / 15 hp motors across the ATV61, ATV71, ATV630, ATV650, ATV930, and ATV950 families — one filter per drive.
THDI (total harmonic current distortion) varies by drive family: 10 % for the ATV630/650/930/950 series, and 16 % for the ATV61/71 series — both at 11 kW / 15 hp. That's the residual distortion after the filter, not the line-side distortion it cleans up. The filter itself runs at 98 % efficiency with 206 W thermal loss, so it's not a free lunch; the panel needs to shed that heat. Power factor correction is load-dependent: cos φ hits 1 at 150 % of line current, 0.99 at 100 %, and 0.85 at 75 %. That means at light load the filter isn't doing much for the PF — it's sized for the drive's full-load current. The filter complies with IEC 61000-2-4, IEC 61000-3-2, IEC 61000-3-12, and the UK G5/4 engineering recommendation, so it's acceptable for installations that need to meet harmonic limits under those standards.
Rated IP20 in open mounting, IP55 when enclosed. Operating ambient temperature is 5…45 °C without derating; above that, derate 3 % per °C up to 60 °C. Storage range is -25…55 °C in original packaging. Altitude derating applies above 1000 m — 5 % per additional 1000 m. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: 2 mm peak-to-peak at 5…13.2 Hz, 0.7 gn at 13.2…150 Hz.
