The Schneider VW3A4623 is a passive filter for Altivar variable speed drives, designed to reduce current harmonics on the line side. It is rated 19 A continuous, 400 V +/- 10 %, three-phase, 50 Hz +/- 5 %. The filter achieves a THDI of 10 % for ATV61H, ATV71H, and ATV71P drives in the 7.5–11 kW range, and 5 % for ATV61W drives in the same power band. Power factor correction is load-dependent: cos phi of 0.99 at full load, 0.85 at 75 % load, and 1.0 at 150 % of line current. Efficiency is rated at 98 %, and the filter can handle up to 1.5 times nominal current without saturating. It connects via a terminal block accepting up to 50 mm² conductors, and is IP20 rated for enclosure mounting.
If you are designing a new panel or replacing a failed unit on an existing Altivar drive, the filter's THDI performance and 19 A rating are the fit criteria. A parametric match (19 A, 400 V, three-phase passive filter) from another manufacturer may be the practical path for new builds, but for a like-for-like swap on an existing drive, the VW3A4623 is what the drive was commissioned with.
Installation notes
Operating temperature range is 5...40 °C without derating; above 40 °C up to 55 °C, derate current by 3 % per °C. At altitudes above 1000 m up to 4000 m, derate 5 % per 1000 m. Storage temperature is -25...55 °C, and relative humidity must stay between 5 and 85 % without condensation. One filter per drive is specified for the listed ATV61 and ATV71 models. The terminal accepts up to 50 mm² — sized for the 19 A rating with headroom. Insulation class F means the winding can handle 155 °C hot-spot temperature without degrading.
