The Schneider VW3A4630 is a passive filter designed to reduce current harmonics on Altivar variable-speed drives. It's sized for a 180 A rated current at 400 V three-phase, and it's matched specifically to the ATV61HC11N4 and ATV71HC11N4 drive models — one filter per drive, no sharing. On those drives, it knocks total harmonic current distortion (THDI) down to 5 % at full load, which is the figure that matters for meeting IEEE 519 or similar grid-harmonic limits without an active front end. The filter's power factor varies with load: unity (1.0) at 150 % of line current, 0.99 at 100 %, and 0.85 at 75 % — so the reactive compensation is most effective when the drive is working hard.
Rated IP20, so it's for clean indoor panel mounting — no washdown, no dust. The electrical connection accepts bare wires up to 16.5 mm diameter, which is a substantial lug for the 180 A path. Operating temperature range is 5...40 °C without derating, or 40...55 °C if you derate current 3 % per °C above 40. Storage range is -25...55 °C. Above 1000 m altitude, derate current 5 % per additional 1000 m. Class F insulation, so the internal windings are rated for 155 °C hot-spot — consistent with the derating curve.
