SIRIUS Size S6 power contactor — 3RT1056-6NF36-0UA0
The magnet coil is rated 96-127 VAC and uses screw-type terminals, which is the standard termination for panel builders who prefer ring or fork lugs over spring-cage connections. Main pole wiring accepts stranded conductors from 25 mm² up to 120 mm², covering the heavy-power side of the S6 frame. An auxiliary switch is included on the contactor, so you do not need to order a separate side-mount block for basic status feedback. The auxiliary contacts are rated 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V — these are the switching limits for the built-in auxiliary, not the main pole ratings.
Mounting and integration
Mounting is by screw fixing through a single 9 mm hole, with the contactor body sized at 172 mm high, 120 mm wide, and 170 mm deep. The mounting position is flexible: the unit can be mounted on a vertical surface and rotated ±90°, or tilted ±22.5° forward and back. Clearance requirements are 10 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 20 mm forward, and 10 mm at the side — these are minimums for arc flash and cooling, so respect them in the enclosure layout. The auxiliary switch wiring accepts solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75-4 mm²). This covers standard control wiring up to 4 mm² for the feedback loop to a PLC or safety relay.
Operating conditions and switching performance
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C. The contactor is rated for switching frequencies up to 750 operations per hour in AC-3 duty (motor starting), 800 ops/h in AC-1 (resistive), 300 ops/h in AC-2, and 130 ops/h in AC-4 (plugging/inching). The mechanical life is typical 10 million operations. Pick-up and drop-out times are 80-90 ms for both AC and DC control circuits, with an arcing time of 10-15 ms.
