Current rating and thermal derating
The 3RW4422-1BC35: The 8 % minimum load setting means the soft starter can regulate starting torque down to very light-load applications like small pumps or fans without overshoot on the ramp. Adjustable current limitation lets you cap inrush below the 50 A rating for installations where the upstream breaker coordination demands a tighter peak.
Bypass topology and inside-delta wiring
Integrated bypass contactor means the thyristors are shorted out once the motor reaches full speed — no continuous semiconductor losses, so the enclosure heat load is just the bypass contactor's holding power. Inside-delta circuit support lets you wire the soft starter in the delta leg of a six-lead motor, reducing the current through the thyristors to 58 % of line current — useful for retrofitting into existing delta-wound motors without re-cabling the main circuit.
Mounting and panel integration
Dimensions 192 mm high, 170 mm wide, 270 mm deep — screw fixing with 100 mm clearance above, 75 mm below, and 5 mm at the sides for airflow. Mounting position allows vertical surface with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front-to-back — useful for tight enclosures where the backplane isn't perfectly plumb.
Protection and environmental ratings
Motor overload protection and intrinsic device protection are both integrated — no separate overload relay needed for the soft starter itself, though the motor still needs its own thermal model or PTC input. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 means it tolerates conductive dust and occasional condensation — suitable for industrial environments without sealed cabinets. Storage temperature -25 to +80 °C, operation up to 60 °C — the storage range covers most warehouse conditions; the 60 °C operating ceiling matches the derating curve's top end.
