281 A at 40 °C — derating drives the real limit
The 3RW4436-2BC46: If the panel ambient runs above 40 °C, the continuous current ceiling drops — size the upstream protection and cabling for the derated figure, not the 40 °C number. Insulation voltage rated 690 V, so it comfortably handles 400/480 V systems with margin. Operating frequency 50…60 Hz — one part covers both line standards.
Inside-delta circuit — line current savings
Thyristor-based with inside-delta wiring. In an inside-delta configuration the soft starter connects in series with each motor winding rather than the supply lines, reducing the line current draw by roughly 42 % compared to a standard in-line connection. This lets a lower-rated starter handle the same motor — check the motor nameplate FLA and winding configuration before specifying. Adjustable current limitation and integrated motor overload protection reduce external component count in the panel. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust — no additional derating needed for typical factory-floor air.
Panel fit — 200 x 170 x 270 mm, screw fixing
Dimensions 200 mm height, 170 mm width, 270 mm depth. Fastened with screw fixing; mounting position allows vertical surface with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front/back — useful for tight enclosures where the backplane angle is non-ideal. Main circuit connection via busbar or stranded cable 25…120 mm², finely stranded 16…95 mm², or kcmil 4…250. Auxiliary contacts accept 2x (24…16) AWG. Clearance: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 5 mm at the side — plan the enclosure layout accordingly.
Fault indication and reset
External reset input and a display for fault signal — the display shows the fault code directly on the unit, so you don't need a laptop to read the trip cause. Wire length maximum 500 m for remote start/stop signals.
