Thyristor topology and inside-delta wiring — why it matters for high-inertia starts
Built around thyristors with an inside-delta circuit, this soft starter switches only the phase legs inside the delta winding — the line current is lower than the motor full-load current, reducing cable and contactor sizing upstream. The inside-delta configuration also halves the thyristor current stress compared to a standard line-fed soft starter, making it a good fit for high-inertia loads like conveyors, crushers, and centrifuges that demand extended ramp times.
Mounting and cable entry — panel layout constraints
Dimensions are 298 mm deep, 210 mm wide, 230 mm high — fits a standard 600 mm deep enclosure with room for the main cables and bending radius. Main circuit cables accept stranded 70–240 mm² or finely stranded 50–240 mm²; the busbar connection option simplifies parallel feeds for the 433 A rating. Mounting position allows vertical surface installation with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt — useful when the panel layout forces an angled or upside-down orientation. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 5 mm at the sides — the tight side clearance lets you pack multiple starters in a row.
