542 A at 40 °C — the current ceiling that sets the motor match
The 3RW4445-6BC34 is rated 542 A at 40 °C ambient, which means it directly handles a motor full-load current up to that figure without external bypass contactors for the starting duty.
Inside-delta wiring and thyristor topology
This soft starter supports inside-delta circuit configuration, which reduces the current through each thyristor leg compared to standard in-line wiring — useful for larger motors where the line current would otherwise push the unit to a larger frame size. The thyristors handle the switching with no mechanical contacts, so the unit is rated for continuous starting duty without contact wear. Motor overload protection is integrated, so you do not need a separate overload relay in the motor branch circuit — the soft starter's own electronics handle the thermal model. Adjustable current limitation lets you tune the starting current between 8 % and the full rating, matching the load characteristic (conveyor, pump, fan) without changing hardware.
Mounting and connection flexibility for panel integration
Mounting position allows a vertical surface with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front-to-back — the unit can be oriented to fit tight enclosures or existing busbar layouts. Fastening is screw fixing, not DIN rail, so plan for direct panel mounting with four screws. Main circuit connections accept stranded wire 70–240 mm², finely stranded 50–240 mm², or kcmil 2/0–500, with busbar connection also listed. The auxiliary control wiring uses solid 0.5–2.5 mm² or stranded 20–14 AWG. Dimensions are 298 mm deep × 210 mm wide × 230 mm high — allow clearance: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 5 mm at the sides for airflow and cable bending radius.
