135 A minimum, 200-600 V — trip class and duty
The 3RW5245-2TC15 is a SIRIUS hybrid soft starter rated for a minimum operating current of 135 A across a supply range of 200 to 600 V (50/60 Hz). Trip class is configurable as CLASS 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2, giving the commissioning engineer flexibility to match the motor start profile without changing hardware. The unit supports soft torque and pump ramp down, making it suited for centrifugal loads where mechanical shock on start and water hammer on stop must be minimised.
Fieldbus suite and control integration
Onboard fieldbus options include PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard, with PROFIenergy available when paired with the PROFINET communication module. Remote reset is possible by cycling the control supply voltage; auto-reset is also supported, which simplifies integration into automated restart sequences after a fault. Firmware update capability is present, allowing field upgrades without replacing the unit.
Mounting and environmental limits
The unit can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back, which aids panel layout in tight enclosures. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm backward — critical for airflow and cable entry planning. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms, with potential contact lifting above 12 g / 11 ms.
The 3RW5245-2TC15 carries CE marking, UL approval, and CSA approval, satisfying the documentation requirements for installations under IEC, NEC, and CEC frameworks. Service factor is 1, meaning the unit is rated for continuous duty at its nameplate current without overload margin — a point to note for applications with sustained overload cycles.
