The wide voltage window means it handles 208 V, 230 V, 400 V, and 480 V without a rewire — just set the motor nameplate parameters during commissioning. ATEX and IECEx certification (both Yes) means it's listed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres — not just a general-purpose box. That's a hard requirement for chemical plants, grain elevators, paint lines, and any Zone-classified area. The cert covers the soft starter itself, not just the enclosure.
Trip Class 10A/10E/20E/30E — what that means for your motor
Trip Class 10A (default) means the soft starter disconnects within 10 seconds at locked-rotor current — that's the standard for most general-purpose pumps and fans. Class 10E is a tighter thermal model for European-rated motors. The selector is parameterizable, so you tune it to the load, not the other way around. Voltage ramp, torque control, pump ramp down, and breakaway pulse are all built in — no add-on cards needed. The breakaway pulse is useful for sticky loads like conveyors that need a short torque hit to break static friction before the ramp takes over. DC braking and combined braking are both present — so if the motor needs to stop faster than coast-to-rest, the soft starter can inject DC into the windings. That's a feature normally found on VFDs, not soft starters, and it saves an external braking contactor.
Fieldbus and panel integration
PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP are all on the menu — no separate gateway needed for most plant networks. PROFIenergy is supported when paired with a PROFINET communication module, useful for energy-aware production scheduling. The 170 mm width and 275 mm height fit a standard 600 mm-wide panel section. Depth is 152 mm, so it clears a 200 mm deep enclosure with room for wiring ducts. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm in front, 5 mm at the sides — plan the gland plate and DIN rail layout accordingly. Screw terminals for power wiring: dual terminals accept 1.0-2.5 mm² and 2.5-10 mm² — that covers control wiring and motor leads up to about 8 AWG. The analog output is configurable as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V, so it can feed a remote SCADA or panel meter with motor current or torque signal.

The event list, error logbook, and trace function give you diagnostics for commissioning and fault finding without a laptop.
