Safety switch with tumbler and spring-actuated lock
The Siemens SIRIUS 3SE5322-1SD21 is a mechanical safety switch with separate actuator and tumbler, designed for position interlocking on guards and access doors. The spring-actuated lock operates on the closed-circuit principle, meaning the lock engages when the solenoid is de-energized — the fail-safe state is locked, not released. A holding force of 1 300 N (1 000 N per EN ISO 14119) keeps the guard positively closed against forced opening.
Rated insulation voltage is 250 V; thermal current (Ith) is 10 A. The slow-action contacts are rated for switching: 6 A at 120 V, 3 A at 240 V, and 0.55 A at 125 V DC. The 24 V LED indicates solenoid state — useful for panel troubleshooting without breaking the guard circuit. IP66/IP67 protection means the switch body withstands high-pressure washdown and temporary submersion — suitable for food-and-bev, chemical, or outdoor conveyor lines. The plastic enclosure and screw fixing accept 3x M20 cable entries. Repeat accuracy of 0.05 mm ensures consistent detection of actuator position.
