It carries a positive-opening switching function (per EN 60947-5-1) — meaning the NC contacts are mechanically forced open when the actuator is depressed, regardless of weld or spring failure. That makes it suitable for safety-related position detection on doors, guards, or movable machine elements where a fail-safe signal is required. The housing is a molded-plastic block design to EN 50047, 31 mm wide, with a rounded plunger actuator (6 mm diameter). It provides 2 normally-closed (NC) auxiliary contacts and no normally-open (NO) contacts. The positive-opening feature applies to both NC contacts, so the switch can be wired into a safety circuit that monitors guard position. The mechanical active principle means no electronics in the switching path — just a direct mechanical link from plunger to contact block.

Mounting is by screw fixing through the block housing — no DIN-rail clip on this variant. The switch head conforms to EN 50047 design B, so it fits standard actuator heads and cam tracks used across the SIRIUS 3SF3 family. The 6 mm plunger overtravel is built in, meaning the switch can be driven past the snap point without damage, which is typical for cam-operated guard doors. Electrical connection is via AS-i insulation displacement terminals — no screw terminals, no tool needed beyond a wire stripper. The AS-i flat cable is simply pressed into the slots. This saves wiring time on a multi-station line but locks you into the AS-i protocol (no Profinet, no IO-Link).
