What this relay does and where it fits
The Siemens 3UG4832-2AA40 is a SIRIUS voltage monitoring relay with digital setting and an LCD display, designed to watch AC or DC supply rails from 10 V up to 600 V (measurable voltage at AC and DC, both 10... 600 V). It catches both overvoltage and undervoltage conditions (overvoltage detection yes, undervoltage detection yes), and offers an adjustable start-up delay of 0... 999.9 s to ride through inrush dips. The relay auto-resets once the voltage returns to the window, and an external reset input is available for manual intervention. Snap-on mounting to a 35 mm DIN rail (fastening method snap-on mounting) and any mounting position means it slots into a crowded panel without fuss. The 22.5 mm width keeps the footprint tight — one standard module wide. IP20 protection class IP20 is fine for a dry control cabinet; no washdown rating here.
What the ratings mean for your panel
The 10-600 V AC/DC range covers common control voltages (24 VDC, 120 VAC, 230 VAC, 480 VAC) and even some medium-voltage signal levels. The relative repeat accuracy of 1 % means the trip point won't drift more than 1 % from the set value over temperature and time — tight enough for most motor protection and generator monitoring schemes. Operating temperature of -25 to +60 °C (during operation -25... +60 °C) suits most indoor industrial environments, including unheated warehouses. The storage and transport range of -40 to +85 °C covers cold-weather shipping. Degree of pollution 2 is the standard for a dry, non-conductive-dust cabinet.
