The Siemens 3VA1010-2ED42-0AC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) for line protection, rated 100 A continuous at 40 °C with a 4-pole configuration. The TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit handles overload and short-circuit protection without an undervoltage release or ground-fault monitoring. Breaking capacity hits 52.5 kA at 240 V and 32 kA at 415 V, which covers most industrial distribution panels stepping down from a 400 V feed. The 70 mm depth and 101.6 mm width fit standard MCCB mounting footprints in a switchboard or enclosure.
Ratings and selectivity
Rated continuous current Iu of 100 A holds flat through 50 °C, then derates to 96 A at 55 °C and 90 A at 70 °C — useful for a warm panel with limited airflow. The breaking capacity curve is steep: 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. At 415 V, 32 kA gives solid headroom for a 25 kA prospective fault level in a typical IEC 60947-2 installation. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) keeps the breaker rated for 690 V line-to-line systems.
Integration and mounting
Mounts in a switchboard or enclosure on a standard MCCB footprint — 70 mm depth, 101.6 mm width, 130 mm height. Front IP40 protection keeps dust out of the panel face. The 2 auxiliary switches (HQ version) provide status feedback for a PLC or indication lamp; no communication module or voltage trigger built in. Ambient operating range -25 °C to 70 °C, storage down to -40 °C.
