Line protection MCCB with thermal derating clarity
The Siemens 3VA1025-3ED36-0AA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated 25 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, configured for line protection duty. It carries a full rated current of 25 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C ambient — no derating needed in a typical 40 °C panel — then steps down to 24 A at 55 °C and 23 A at 70 °C, which is the maximum operating temperature. That thermal curve lets you size the breaker for a 25 A load without oversizing for a warm enclosure, as long as ambient stays under 50 °C.
Breaking capacity across voltage levels
Breaking capacity drops with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. At 240 V it handles high-fault commercial services; at 415 V it covers most European industrial distribution panels. The 7.5 kA at 690 V still exceeds typical motor-circuit fault levels for a 25 A feeder. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so the breaker is suitable for 690 V line-to-line systems with adequate clearance.
Panel fit and environmental ratings
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits SENTRON distribution blocks and panel-mounting feet. Front protection is IP40, meaning tools or fingers won't reach live parts, but the breaker is not sealed against washdown. Storage range spans -40 °C to 80 °C; operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 8.5 W, which matters for thermal coordination inside a sealed enclosure.
