What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1040-4ED32-0CA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) for line protection, carrying a 40 A continuous rating at 40 °C through 50 °C and derating to 36 A at 70 °C. Its 121 kA breaking capacity at 240 V drops to 75.6 kA at 415 V and 11.9 kA at 690 V — the full voltage-dependent curve you need for selectivity studies. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
