80 A MCCB with TM210 — what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1080-3ED32-0AH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 80 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. That 80 A holds flat through 50 °C — at 55 °C it derates to 78 A, at 65 °C to 75 A, so in a warm enclosure you still have headroom for a 70 A continuous load without nuisance tripping. The interrupting ratings climb with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V. At 500 V and 690 V it still clears 7.5 kA, which covers most industrial distribution downstream of a transformer. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480/277 V or 600 V delta systems without creeping along the insulation boundary. The TM210 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic — no electronic adjustment, no communication module. That keeps it simple and reliable for line-protection duty where you don't need zone-selective interlocking or remote trip indication beyond the built-in trip indicator and the auxiliary switch block (2 aux + 1 trip alarm HQ).
Mounting and integration — fits standard MCCB footprints
The 3VA1080-3ED32-0AH0 measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep — a 3-pole frame that drops into the standard SENTRON mounting footprint. No communication function, no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring on this variant; it's a straight line-protection breaker with the basic switch (order code 3VA10803ED320AA0) and the auxiliary switch block pre-installed. If your BOM calls for the bare breaker plus separate aux kit, this is the factory-assembled version.
