What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA2110-5JP32-0DA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed as the panel warms up. Its 3-pole design handles line protection duty, with a rated insulation voltage of 800 V and breaking capacities that scale with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA figure at 240 V means it can safely interrupt very high fault currents on low-voltage distribution, typical for large transformer-fed switchboards. This MCCB includes an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release type, and a communication function for integration into monitoring or control systems. The design is explicitly for line protection, not motor or feeder protection — so it's sized for cable and busbar protection in distribution panels.
Panel fit and thermal performance
Dimensions are 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, and 181 mm tall — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount installation. Power loss is 12.5 W maximum, which is modest for a 100 A frame and keeps internal panel temperature rise manageable in a sealed enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. The continuous current rating holds flat at 100 A from 40 °C through 70 °C — no thermal derating curve to calculate for typical industrial panel environments.
