SENTRON 3VA2 MCCB — 40 A, ETU330, 4-Pole
The breaker is designed for 800 V insulation voltage and delivers a breaking capacity of 440 kA at 415 V and 187 kA at 690 V — meaning it can safely interrupt very high fault currents in low-voltage distribution without cascading upstream. The N-conductor protection is adjustable (OFF or 100%), and ground-fault monitoring is implemented via summation current formation on L+N conductors.
The ETU330 trip unit is the decision point: it supports adjustable overload (Ir) from 0.4 to 1.0 x In and short-circuit (Isd) settings, making it suitable for feeder or main breaker duty where coordination with downstream devices is needed. The IP40 protection on the front (finger-safe) suits it for enclosed panel mounting; the overall dimensions (181 mm height, 140 mm width, 86 mm depth) fit standard 3VA2 panel cutouts and busbar arrangements.
Mounts in a standard MCCB panel footprint — the 140 mm width and 181 mm height match the 3VA2 frame. The breaker accepts screw or busbar connections; the ETU330 is powered by integral current transformers, so no external control power is needed for the trip unit. The ground-fault monitoring (summation current on L+N) requires the neutral conductor to pass through the same CT core — verify the wiring scheme matches the panel design. The IP40 front allows operation through a panel door with a rotary handle or extended shaft. Power loss is only 1.2 W at rated current, so thermal derating within an enclosed panel is minimal.
