It is designed for starter protection — meaning the trip curve and coordination are tuned for motor-starting inrush rather than plain feeder duty. The interrupting rating reaches 330 kA at 240 V, dropping to 3.7 kA at 690 V, so it handles high available fault current on the low-voltage side of a distribution transformer.
Panel integration
The 3-pole block occupies a single 105 mm wide slot. Spring-cage or screw terminals accept copper conductors in the range typical for 40 A branch circuits. The ETU310M is user-adjustable via the front dials — no software or handheld programmer needed for basic settings. No undervoltage release or shunt trip is factory-installed, but Siemens offers field-installable accessory kits.
