63 A MCCB with TM210 release for line protection
The Siemens 3VM1163-5ED32-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker designed for line protection — meaning it sits on the feeder side of a distribution panel, not on a motor or branch circuit. It carries a continuous current rating of 63 A at 40 °C, and the TM210 thermal-magnetic release handles both overload (thermal bi-metal) and short-circuit (magnetic) trip curves without electronic adjustment.
Breaking capacity — what the voltage columns mean
The interrupting rating drops with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 76 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 500 V. That 17 kA at 500 V is the number to watch if you're on a 480 V or 500 V industrial feed — it's still high enough for most low-fault panels, but verify your available fault current against that column before committing the BOM line.
Thermal derating above 55 °C
This breaker holds full 63 A up to 50 °C ambient. At 55 °C it derates to 62 A, at 60 °C to 61 A, at 65 °C to 60 A, and at 70 °C to 58 A. If the panel sits near a heat source or in a sealed enclosure, the 58 A floor at 70 °C is the safe sizing figure.
Panel fit and mounting
Three-pole, 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep — standard MCCB footprint for a 63 A frame. IP40 on the front face means it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm, but not against water ingress; mount it inside a rated enclosure. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 400/480 V systems with margin. Max power loss is 17 W — factor that into your enclosure thermal calculation.
